The Nuthatch
Since Middlesbrough’s Bedford Street was redeveloped, The Nuthatch has become a destination for cocktails and mocktails.
Catering from small groups or couples on date night, the intimate venue has also embraced a zero waste ethos.
On site, they create their own ingredients such as liqueurs and syrups to reduce any unnecessary waste. They distil their own brand of gin, which is used in their cocktails and sold separately to customers in bottles.
Their drinks menu features an unique range of signature cocktails, however there are classic options to try such as flavoured mojitos.

Macy Browns
Offering crowd-pleasing cocktails, great music, and dancing, Macy Browns is a cocktail bar nestled close to Teesside University and is open 7 days a week.
The venue is a night-out favourite, as it’s jukebox features thumping house, smooth R&B and chart classics.
Whilst dancing the night away, you can enjoy a wide range of traditional cocktails such as espresso martini or a pina colada. Or dive into their mocktail menu which offers a wide range of non-alcoholic tipples such as a strawberry daiquiri.
Umi Japanese Restaurant
There is no need to travel outside of Middlesbrough to enjoy some authentic Asian cuisine such sushi or ramen, as centrally located, Umi Japanese restaurant have you covered.
Open six days a week for lunch and dinner, the popular restaurant is also a hot spot to sample an unique cocktail.
They source all ingredients for their drinks from the far east, such as fine Japanese bitters and spirits.
The restaurant also takes pride in presenting their cocktails in an unique manner, where you can often expect your drink to be severed in a miniature bathtub.
