Rio Brazilian Steakhouse

The authentic Brazilian steakhouse which is one of Middlesbrough's most popular restaurants, and has gained national recognition

Specially-trained Gaucho chefs are on hand to serve exquisite meat cuts which are continuously carved at the table in a traditional Rodizio style.

Transport yourself into the Tijuca Urban Forest that surrounds Rio de Janeiro, with planted walls and flowered ceilings.

Then experience the true taste of a traditional Brazilian Churrasco.

And it’s all right here, on Albert Road in Middlesbrough.

Rio Steakhouse has claimed the number one spot on TripAdvisor as Middlesbrough’s top rated eatery and recently gained national recognition, being named the third best in the UK in TripAdvisor’s Everyday Eats category.

Since opening in 2021, Rio has attracted strong support from customers across the town – while it’s also proven an attraction, with visitors from Manchester, Leeds, York, and Whitby making the trip to Middlesbrough.

Brazilian chefs take customers on an authentic dining experience – instead of ordering one cut of steak, diners can take in the theatre of enjoying 16 different cuts of beef, pork, chicken, or lamb carved at their table.

The customer is in control – choose from a host of items at the restaurant’s salad bar, including imported cheeses and cured meats.

Then, turn your Rio card to the green bull head and the front of house team will bring you your choice of meat. If you need a break, turn it to red.

A range of unique cocktails with a taste of South America include caipirinhas, margaritas, Copacabana Reveions, and Rio’s signature cocktail ‘Old Duarte’, made with Lagavulin whisky, Drambuie, Mozart chocolate, orange bitters, and garnished with orange zest.
