Efe’s took over Great, the Greek restaurant which had been run by former Middlesbrough FC player Dimi Konstantopoulos on Linthorpe Road.

New owner Mehmet Kiter wants to bring a taste of his homeland to the town – serving “traditional Turkish food but with a modern twist”.

It’s open seven days a week from noon until 10pm for dine-in customers and the venue is also doing takeaways for collection.

And the restaurant’s giant two-metre long shish kebab has proven a hit with customers.
