Dorman Museum

Housing the history of Middlesbrough, its industries and famous residents
>

The Dorman Museum is temporarily closed for refurbishment until spring 2024. We’re making some much-needed upgrades to our building. This includes: new CCTV cameras, new hearing loops, repairs to the external steps, refurbishing the passenger lift and accessible toilet, and upgrading the internal staircase.

The museum houses the largest public collections worldwide of locally made Linthorpe Art Pottery and designs by Dr Christopher Dresser.

The Dorman also offers a great range of permanent display galleries to captivate visitors of all ages, from space to Middlesbrough through time.

For refreshments, check out the Victorian-style Dressers Tearoom, and for a perfect souvenir of your visit, don’t miss the museum shop, which sells exclusive Dresser merchandise.

Additional facilities include an education suite.
