Middlesbrough town centre is going to the next level.
Level X, a huge indoor family entertainment centre at Captain Cook Square, is the first in a string of exciting developments set to open in Middlesbrough this year.
It features the first interactive, indoor electric karting experience in the UK. With power-ups and virtual ‘weapons’ to slow down your opponents think Mario Kart, but in real life!
The karting track itself is 250m long and snakes around the top floor of the former TJ Hughes building.
In the centre is crazy golf like you’ve never known it, with electronic sensors meaning you don’t need a pencil and paper to keep score.
The best retro arcade games complete the rest of the top floor. Downstairs, you can take your pick of fun-filled family attractions.

To the left, there’s a host of pool tables bookable by the hour and a well-stocked bar serving drinks and snacks.
Twelve lanes of bowling – decorated in trendy neon and graffiti art – is available, next to the virtual reality arena which has state-of-the-art kit offering fun for younger children, and adults alike.
Bumper cars, karaoke pods, cyber darts and more arcade games fill the rest of the ground floor.
Level X is open Monday to Thursday from 3pm until late, from 11am until late on Fridays and from 10am until late on Saturdays, Sundays and during the school holidays.
