Held in Albert Park on 9-10 September, the free family festival is a firm favourite in the Middlesbrough events calendar attracting more than 50,000 people over its two days.
Now in its 33rd year, the Mela has an amazing heritage and is one of the longest running Mela’s in the UK. According to the organisers, the secret of its success is simply down to its mass appeal catering for everybody regardless of age, gender or social background.
The Mela is free and a family friendly event that offers workshops and activities, shopping in the stall bazaar or simply being entertained by the acts on the main stage
This two day spectacular will see headline performances from acts including Firstman and Bambi Bains.
Other acts lined up include the ever popular Gubi Sandhu, Meshi Sandhu, Sazia Judge, Silverfinger Singh, Raj Kaul, Sazia Judge and Metz N Trix.
Every year visitors come from far and wide to experience the hustle and bustle of the stalls bazaar which has been described as the equivalent of a souk or an international market with an amazing array of food, fashion and fabrics.
The entertainment on the main stage kicks off from 12noon and is back-to-back with non-stop local, national and international performers.
