What does Captain Cook mean for the Middlesbrough of Today?

Historian Talk- part of Teesside's Local History Month

Dorman Museum

7th May 2025 - 1:00pm - 2:00pm

>

Discussion with historian Charlotte Battison featuring My Boro My Shirt exhibition and museum exhibits.

Charlotte asks us to think about how does Captain Cook represent the community? How does his legacy reflect the community we now live in? Charlotte is asking us to look forward to the tri-centenary of James Cook in 2028 and hopefully enjoy a brand-new birthplace museum.

Let’s think about Cook and how his voyages of exploration have helped shape the Middlesbrough of Today.

Dorman Museum, Linthorpe Road. Part of the Teesside Local History Month in May.
