Held in the beautiful surrounds of Middlesbrough Town Hall’s Courtyard, this outdoor production transports the Shakespeare classic to 1940s wartime Middlesbrough.
It’s Hermia, Puck, Oberon and Nick Bottom like you’ve never seen them before; pin curls, trouser suits and all.
In Shakespeare’s most popular comedy, four young lovers find themselves in an enchanted forest, where a feuding Fairy King and Queen are at war. Chief mischief-maker Puck is on hand to ensure that the course of true love is anything but smooth, and fantastical games ensue!
This production is part of The Bard of Boro Town Hall project, designed to champion the local theatre sector by creating opportunities and exposure for those hobbyists to local professionals. Run in partnership with Less is MORE productions.
