RNS Moves, an inclusive ensemble made up of disabled musicians and non-disabled members of Royal Northern Sinfonia, presents this special concert with guest Rapasa Nyatrapasa Otieno.
Rapasa is a singer, songwriter, and virtuoso of the nyatiti – a traditional eight-string lyre from the shores of Nam Lolwe (Kenya’s Lake Victoria).
Rapasa Nyatrapasa Otieno will introduces the audience to the nyatti and his compositions, deeply rooted in traditional storytelling from the Lüo community in western Kenya. You’ll also hear music by African composers Ayo Bankole and Tunde Jegede, Welsh harpist Robert Ap Huw, Antonín Dvořák and Jessie Montgomery.
