Grammy Award-nominated and Brit Award winning singer, James Bay heads to the
Middlesbrough Empire as part of his 2022 tour, ‘Give Me The Reason’ tour.
Bay has a range of awards including a platinum-certified 2014 debut Chaos And The Calm, he was nominated for a range of GRAMMIES nominations in the categories of “Best New Artist,” “Best Rock Album,” and “Best Rock Song” for the gold-selling single “Hold Back The River.”
Bay took home two BRIT Awards, two Q Awards, and top honors at the Ivor Novello Awards and ECHO Awards. Tallying 3 billion streams by 2020.
He has performed on Saturday Night Live, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Today Show, Good Morning America and more.
He also notably dueted with icons such as Alicia Keys on The Voice and Mick Jagger while supporting The Rolling Stones at Twickenham Stadium in London.
Bay deconstructed his sound to its bare essentials on the Oh My Messy Mind EP. It yielded the hit “Peer Pressure” [feat. Julia Michaels], generating 131 million Spotify streams and receiving acclaim from Time, Rolling Stone, and Billboard.
He also spent the majority of 2019 opening for Ed Sheeran on his record-breaking stadium run.

The Empire retains all its former glory with three floors dedicated to style and music.
It hosts regular club nights such as Creeps and the Dead Rebel Club, and live concerts and DJ sets from some of the biggest names in music.
And thanks to £350,000 funding from the Arts Council, the Empire has been fully refurbished during the Covid lockdown with the installation of a brand new, state-of-the-art sound system and lighting rigs, and Covid-secure toilets.
