From her first tentative steps as a song writer, playing solo at an open mic at Toft House, Marie Marx has grown in stature and confidence with every appearance. Her last gig for us with a band was back in August 2019 and it was simply wonderful. Her 2021 album “Universe”, out on Mirage Music, is a feast of glorious melodies and delicious vocals. She really is an excellent song writer.

Speaking of good song writers, Steve McCormick, familiar as he is to audiences in Teesside, should be far better known nationally. He writes terrific, catchy songs, packed with strong melodies and performs them with energy and passion. Tonight he is with his band Peter Gifford (bass) and Hugh McGouran (percussion).

This wonderful double bill should be a great way to kick off the Easter weekend.
