The return of the much anticipated Comedy Night at Chapel – Whitehouse Street with a brand new regular format featuring stand up comedians and improvised sketch.
This month gracing our comedy altar is headline act:
THE DISCOUNT COMEDY CHECKOUT
Regular headliners in comedy clubs all over the UK for over 12 years now, The DCC also introduced regular improvised comedy shows to Teesside over 5 years ago now. Without doubt, one of the best Improv Sketch groups on the circuit and the only professional group performing in the area.
Featuring: Chris Lumb (BBC3: Russell Howards Good News), Natalie Smeaton (Britain’s Got Talent), and Phil Allan-Smith (BBC1: This is MY House, local comedian Ted Hanky).
If you’ve never seen improvised comedy before, you are in for a real treat. All the games, scenarios, and situations are formed and created from your suggestions … that’s right YOU, the audience.
It’s very much in the style of ‘Whose Line is it Anyway’ but with a modern twist ….and normally a little risker (and often ruder too).
Opening the show we’ve got stand up comedy from:
Howard Anstock
Howard Anstock is an inspiration – once a rough sleeper, homeless and nowhere to go he turned his life around and is now performing all over the UK telling the funny side of his former life. By his own description he’s also “a dull, middle aged gay guy” but his set is far from nondescript with unique angle of life’s various twists and turns.
Plus we’ve got two newer acts in the middle section
Hosted by CHRIS LUMB (as seen on Russell Howard’s Good News)
