Ahead of the event, we’re sharing a few reasons why families should head along to this year’s event:

1) The trail is more magical than ever before
Wander through a luminous world where shadows stretch, lights soar and wonder grows larger with every step. Imagine towering flowers blooming above your head, have a hoot with some giant owls, take a selfie with a giant cunning fox and get ready to fall in love with luminous rabbits that leap, play, and dance before your eyes. The Nightfall team are announcing a new artwork each week, so keep an eye on their social media for future reveals.

2) Get ready for an outdoor silent disco boogie
Dance the night away under a giant mirrorball made from brightly coloured mirrored pieces, creating rainbow patterns that will make your head spin. This giant mirrorball will be the perfect backdrop for a silent disco beneath the stars; so grab a set of headphones and lose yourself to a Nightfall playlist. Whether you’re dancing and showing off your moves or simply soaking in the glowing spectacle of mirrorball magic whilst listening to music, this installation will leave you smiling.

As you journey along the glowing paths and marvel at the dazzling installations, you’ll also encounter hidden surprises at Nightfall: pop-up performances, enchanting storytellers, and interactive moments that invite you to join in the fun.

This year ticket holders can expect performances from:

  • Stoyteller, Ian Douglas with his magic lantern will captivate audiences with mysterious tales using shadow puppets.
  • Whippet Up will be back with a brand-new fun UV puppet show that will premiere at Nightfall.
  • Tees Valley Music Service will be showcasing their talents with live performances.

And more to be announced soon…..

4) An opportunity for families to get creative together
From artist-led family workshops that spark imagination to interactive installations inviting kids and grown-ups alike to play amongst the glow, Nightfall is a celebration of creativity at every turn. Across the event, there are endless opportunities for families to connect, have fun, make memories and let their creativity shine bright.

5) It’s the perfect after dark date or mate gettogether
Embrace the magic of a winter evening at Nightfall, the later slots are designed for those who want to experience the event as a date night with a difference or exploring with friends. Nightfall offers an illuminated playground where you can round off the night tucking into street food, listening to live DJs whilst enjoying a hot chocolate or something a little stronger!

There’s an off-peak discount for Sunday night slots 8.30pm, 8.45pm and 9pm – it will be automatically applied to your purchase if you select these times.

6) It’s foodie heaven
Gather beneath the stars to enjoy delicious street food from some of the region’s best local businesses. We’re talking loaded fries, pizza cooked on site, clucking good chicken, marshmallow topped hot chocolates, sweet treats for those who love their pudding fix, and so much more.

There will be options for veggies, vegans and gluten free too. And if you’re feeling in the festive mood, there’ll be mulled wine, fizz, cocktails, mocktails on offer whilst some of the region’s favourite DJs take to the decks.
